moreso
october 21, 2009

when i think of you, i think of how much you've changed the way my eyes see
the way my ears hear and the way my heart feels.

sometimes i'm sure that i've faded from your memory
you still swim in the depths of mine
fondly surfacing from time to time
you taught me more than you'll ever know

it doesn't hurt for me to say that i love you
although i've lost you
in the same way i can love those things
that i cannot hold onto

like a fall day

as the bitter winter, uninvited,
makes its way toward me
i can miss the easy breeze of autumn
or your whispers when you were half-asleep
just the same

i think of you
often
and how much has changed
but moreso of what has not
